It's finally raining in Minneapolis. We've had pretty bad drought conditions for a while now, so the past two days of rain are welcome. I've also been enjoying the rain simply because it's been a while since I've had a nice, lazy day. Red Fox Grey Fox's music is meant for days like this.

These guys are on Say Rah Records, a new label co-run by the same guy who runs Afternoon Records. And yes, they are all guys: the lead singer Peter Miller has something of a high voice. As City Pages' Sarah Askari wrote about the band, "[A]fter I slipped From the Land of Bears, Ice, and Rock into my car stereo, I was so certain I heard a girl's voice coming out of the speakers that I ejected the disc to make sure the friend I borrowed it from hadn't accidentally given me the wrong album." I had a similar reaction, but then I decided it didn't matter. Miller's got a great voice, even if it's high and thin.
From the Land of Bears, Ice and Rock is a good record, and you should pick it up. Contact Say Rah to get a copy.
