Since it's LOST Thursday (yes, we forgot about the change from Wednesday until last night, too), here's a bit that came to the inbox a few days back: Thanks to Adam Schatz and Jeff Curtin for tipping us off to the the worst -- but funniest -- way to catch up with each week's bygone LOST chapter. Previously On LOST will write, record, and post to MySpace a song after each episode, offering a recap and handy reminder of the madness that went down. The first song's called "We're Going Home." Kitschy, but cute (and a fun link to forward to similarly LOST souls). Plus it's really fun to sing along to! C'mon, everybody: "We are the Oceanic Six ... we are the Oceanic Six ... I think I'm gonna grow a beard..."

Everybody loved "Sensual Seduction." Snoop keeps it on the slow jam tip here, but as much as we're suckers for nostalgia ... do not want. It's a song about why he's stayed relevant all these years. We'd rather hear more of his political punditry: "I'm not down with the republican part or the democratic party. I represent the gangsta party."

An A-Z of who's showcasing at this year's industry schmooze fest in Austin. Might wanna think twice about that pledge to "see every band!" this year. (Thanks Emily)

Thirty years ago, Brian Eno released the four-part proto-ambient work Music For Airpots. Then, in 1998, Bang On A Can All-Stars performed and released a live version of the work, which just came out as a digital-only download via Cantaloupe. (Yes, that's a lot of "8"'s.) Bang's live rendition of Eno's studio work offers the subtle, atmospheric lift of the original with interesting live details flitting with and scraping against the central piano reps. We have "1/2," as arranged by David Lang, after the jump. Lace up your meditation shoes.

When we premiered the Buddyrevelles two-and-a-half minute gem "I Dream Of Rodney" last year, we noted its "patient heart-worn chants bursting into a Built To Spill meets Ben Gibbard coda." Sounds pretty feel-good, right? The track now gets a video (following up the unforgettable Muddyrevelles clip for "The Foreigner") with a cute story attached:

Conceived and directed by Joe Pickett of The Found Footage Festival, the new video ... is based on a real-life hardware store shopping spree that his father once won. Shot on location in Milton, WI in the actual ACE Hardware where the inspirational spree took place, The Buddyrevelles have substituted Dave Reinholdt (brother of drummer, Dan) as the determined man presented with the opportunity of a lifetime.

Cute. Take some sounds...

One more here. The Buddyrevelles' Don't Quit is out now via Solitaire. You can still stream the whole thing here.

Been a little remiss in not yet talking up San Francisco's the Dodos and their Frenchkiss debut Visiter, which has been survived the "maybes" promo pile and sort of blossomed into repeat-worthy listening. Changing that today, with the frantic strumming/drumming of "Jodi"...

The Dodos - "Jodi" (MP3)

It gives you a sense of the Dodos craft, really; the tunes tend toward the propulsive and enjoy flirting with something a little more manic and psych-y, but they never go quite as far as obviously influences Akron/Family or Animal Collective. Here's the tune that sold us on 'em a few months ago; it's called "Fools," and close to name it sorta grooves like Feel, actually ("The Purple Bottle," in the beat) before really settling into a sort of diluted, easier to swallow Sung Tongs acoustic-and-screams folk sound (at around 3:30, on).

Grab that MP3, links to more, and tour dates after the jump.

We found Portland poppers the Shaky Hands' CMJ set kinda, well, shaky, but from the looks of the Marq Young-directed video for "Whales Sing," the guys have worked out the kinks: All they needed was to head into the great NW outdoors, don rainbow sweatshirts, and grab the hula hoops and hand claps until they found the eye of the tiger. It also helps when you write an oddball, catchy, sunny song.

That said, some of the most awkward dancing we've ever witnessed (and we've witnessed a lot), but done with enough smiles that we'll let it pass. Actually, the long-haired dude's Tai Chi pop-and-lock move kinda rules.

Here's a copy of "Whales Sing" to bring to your own beach party:

When DJ STV SLV mashes that infamous, isolated Diamond Dave "Runnin' With The Devil" vocal track with the Notorious B.I.G., you just might go crazy from the beat. Best East Coast/West Coast jam in some time. Fair warning.

Two of us grew up in Nassau county, where childhood trips to Shea and memorization of every word of BJ's catalogue are the quickest way to assimilation (particularly if you, say, are picked on for your dark skin, funny name, and dad's turban). So we imagine a pretty massive contingent of the people we gleefully lost touch with two decades ago will be at "The Last Play at Shea, From the Beatles to Billy" concert on July 16th, indeed the last music event from the closing orange-and-blue architectural monstrosity. And if you wanna know Scott's whereabouts that night, we're guessing he'll be front row. Strong Island reprezent.

We're not sure if the Watson Twins are joining her, but Jenny is taking a break from Blake and the Under The Blacklight crew for another record in her own name. She'll have tons of other company on the LP, though, including beau Johnathan Rice and Interpol touring member "Farmer Dave" Scher (huh?), along with guest vocalists Chris Robinson, M. Ward, Elvis Costello (whoa), and Zooey Deschanel. Jenny and Zooey will be in the same room. What a hot great idea. (Hat tip to Muzzle of Bees for the heads up.)
